Outer Banks is a Netflix show that came out on April 15th, 2020. It was created by Shannon Burke, Jonas Pate, and Josh Pate, and the show is rated TV-MA. With the pandemic happening around its release, many people had a reason to watch the show, causing it to become very popular. Suddenly, everyone was talking about this new show and many people took to popular media sites, such as TikTok and Twitter, to discuss the show.

The show focuses on a group of teens who live at “The Cut,” a location in the Southside of Kildare Island where the low-income residents live and work. There are different “classes” of people on the island: the “Kooks,” who are wealthier residents who run the boating business of the island; and the “Pogues,” who are the working class and who do the “dirty” work for the boat business.

The group of teens consist of John B. (Routledge), Sarah (Cameron), Kiarra (Carrera), JJ (Maybank), and Pope. This group of close friends are Pogues. Throughout the show, the group is trying to find out what happened to John B.’s—the group’s “leader”—missing father. Along the way, they discover that there is a great treasure tied to John B.’s dad, and they try to find it.

There was a second season released on July 30th, 2021, which consists of 10 episodes. Most recently, the third season was released on February 23th, 2023. It has been watched on many TV’s throughout the nation. Many people have been talking about the new season and it has been #1 on Netflix for weeks.

There are many other characters and actors throughout the series. These actors have been praised by many fans for bringing the show to life. This show and its actors have won 3 awards so far. In 2020, the show won the “People’s Choice Award for Favorite Bingeworthy Show.” In 2021, Chase Strokes won the “People’s Choice Award for the Drama TV Star of the Year.” Also in 2021, Madelyn Cline and Chase Strokes won the award for “MTV Movie & TV Award for Best Kiss.” I would recommend watching this show to see for yourself why everyone loves it so much.
