On March 25th, the FC speech team attended the Cotter Speech Meet. This is one of the biggest meets the team will attend this season, and the last regular season meet before subs and sections. 

Half of the team advanced to finals/next-ins. (Note: final rounds take the top 6 from each category [which is determined after 3 preliminary rounds] and pits them head to head. Next-ins recognizes the next 6 competitors, and they compete for 7th to 12th place. Next-in are primarily used in the largest categories.) Kyra Arndt advanced to finals in her category, creative expression, and placed 2nd out of 16 competitors. Brayden Engen advanced to next-ins for his category, humorous, and placed 1st in next-ins out of 30 total humorous competitors. 

On the whole, the team placed 11th. Great job speech!
