On Monday, April 3rd, the Fillmore Central Speech team competed in the subsection tournament at Chatfield. This meet took place after school, and went on until late at night. There were seven competitors, and out of those seven competitors, four of them were able to advance to the Section tournament! To move on to the Section tournament, you need to place in the top 6 of your category in the subsection tournament.

From Fillmore Central, those competitors were Brayden Engen who placed 6th in humorous, Ben Ryan who placed 6th in prose, Kyra Arndt who placed 1st in creative expression, and Hannah Kingsley who placed 5th in dramatic interpretation. The three other competitors attending were Alex Gulbranson in humorous, Korra Biel in poetry, and Amelia Ringer in prose. Overall, Rushford-Fillmore ranked third as a team (This is a joke; The speech children from both teams are only hoping to combine. Fillmore ranked 5th as a team!).
