Rainy Days

Maggie Dempewolf, Staff writer

Rainy days may seem like not such a fun thing, but we should all try to find some joy in them. Now yes, sunny days are great for being outdoors and soaking in the sun, but rainy days should also have their moment in the spotlight. There are many great things that can come from rainy days.

Rainy days can seem dreary and depressing, but this can be a great way to show that sometimes we all need an excuse to have a day to shut ourselves off and unwind. Sure, you might be stuck inside all day, but this is a great time to catch up on house chores. There can be something just so comforting about rainy days. They can remind us to just relax and slow down. We don’t need to rush in this lifetime, but rather sometimes we need to take a step back and calm down. Rainy days are great for sleeping in, making your favorite comfort food, and doing those small mundane things we have all been putting off. Sometimes rainy days are also a great time to do absolutely nothing. I mean literally nothing. Stay in bed in your pjs all day and scroll through your phone. Or for anyone that reads, rainy days are a great way to finish up your favorite books. Even if you don’t really like rainy days, you shouldn’t be too sad because the next day’s weather is sure to be better.

So, the next time you have a rainy day, really try to enjoy it. Take the day as an excuse to do whatever you want. Just sit back and enjoy the day. No need to rush things.
