MRS. THOMAS

Mrs. Thomas has been a member of Fillmore Central since the year of 2015 as a special education teacher. Her experience at Fillmore Central did not start there, however. Mrs. Thomas is also a Fillmore Central Alumni from the class of 2007. After high school, Thomas attended Winona State University and earned a Bachelors in Science in Learning Disabilities and Development. She then continued her education online with Hamline University to earn an Autism Spectrum Disorder license. Afterwards, Thomas then proceeded to attend another online school to earn a Work Based Learning License. Today, Mrs. Thomas now teaches at Fillmore Central as an inspiring educator.

Besides teaching, Mrs. Thomas prefers to spend her time crafting, and hanging out with the people she loves.

There is no doubt, every student deserves to have the opportunity to learn. Thomas’s active commitment to help the students in need is inspiring. It was just this year where she assisted in the development of the Coffee Cart–a student operated coffee service. She also helped set up the space for a transition room at the community center in Harmony, Minnesota. This transition room assists students with special needs to excel in everyday life skills. Apart from her role of being an educator, Mrs. Thomas is also the Junior Class advisor. Fillmore Central High School is happy to have Mrs. Thomas as a member of its staff.
