Frogs—Some of the Coolest Amphibians on the Planet!

Maggie Dempewolf, Staff writer

Now, many people may think that frogs are gross, with them being kind of slimy and weird. But, when you really think about it, these tiny creatures can actually be pretty cool. Let’s look into all the different colors and types of frogs there are and talk about why frogs should get a bit more hype.

Frogs are a type of amphibian. Amphibians are cold blooded and start their lives out in the water. As they get older, they transition into living their lives on land. Other amphibians include toads, salamanders, and newts. Frogs don’t have tails, and they have smooth skin. Frogs can absorb water through their skin. A large group of frogs is known as an army, and they have a lifespan of 10 to 12 years. Frogs have very good night vision. These little things also have very strong vocal cords. They can make a noise up to 100 decibels. Frogs come in a variety of colors including green, yellow, black, and red. Frogs can also leap up to 20 times their body length, and they don’t have ribcages.

Overall, these little guys are pretty neat. Having one as a pet is also pretty easy too, as they don’t need much attention. They can really make fun companions. They also just look really neat. You can say that you have a neat pet while everyone else has dogs or cats. So go out and get yourself a frog, and give the little guys the love that they need!
