ANDREW PEDERSON

Mr. Andrew Pederson became a member of Fillmore Central 10 years ago as the FCHS health teacher. Mr. Pederson had always intended on becoming an educator since his early years in high school. It was his sister that inspired him to become a health teacher. After high school, Pederson continued his education at Minnesota State University Mankato to major in Health Science and Human Performance. Pederson also graduated college with a minor in D.A.P.E (Developmental Adapted Physical Education). Today, Mr. Andrew Pederson job titles include: high school health and phy ed teacher, strength and agility instructor, and the assistant football coach.   

Besides working at Fillmore Central, Mr. Andrew Pederson prefers to spend his time with his family. Some of his most cherished memories with his family include the times where they travel to their cabin in northern Alexandria, MN during the summer. 

Mr. Andrew Pederson has had many accomplishments during his time at Fillmore Central. Just recently, Pederson spoke about the Fillmore Central Strength and Agility Program to the State High School Strength Coaches Association. It was also during this year where Pederson had the privilege to lead the football team to participate in the state championship. Besides his own accomplishments, Pederson mentioned how he loves to see students succeed in what they do. Whether it be in sports, art, or academics, the students come first. 

As one of Pederson’s favorite aspects about Fillmore Central, he revealed how the students and teachers form special connections that are often rare to find. He also mentioned how being with his coworkers is like “a family atmosphere.” Fillmore Central High School is happy to have Mr. Andrew Pederson as a member of its staff.
