Boys Baseball Has Really Been Kicking It This Season!

The boys baseball team has been having a great season so far! FCL’s first game was great winning opener, with them winning 6-5 against Rushford Peterson on the 11th of April. On the 14th of April, the boys hosted Goodhue with a 7-4 win. Dillon O’Connor picked up the win, and he got two home runs to start the scoring. Gunner Benson came in for the relief and picked up the save.
On Saturday, April 15th, the boys traveled to Hayfield where they got a 13-4 win. Cooper Ferrie got the win with 5 strikeouts, and Stephan Schultz got a a big time 3 run home run. On the 18th of April, the boys took on Chatfield. Despite being down 2-7 in the 6th inning, the falcons pulled off a come-from-behind win, ending with a final score of 9-8. Gunner Benson earned the win on the mound, and offensive contributions came from everyone. On the 21st of April, the FCL had a double header vs Winona Cotter. They took the first game with a 6-4, and Gunner Benson had a complete game win. On the 24th of April, the boys continued their winning streak against Mabel-Canton with a 16-3 win.
The FCL boys had a their first loss of the season against Dover-Eyota in the 7th inning with a loss of 5-6. On the 27th of April, the FCL boys came back with 8-4 win over St. Charles. Cooper Ferrie picked up the win while picking up 9 strike outs, and Stephen Schultz got a solo home run and picked up the save. On May 2nd, the FCL boys took another win against PEM 4-1, with Cooper Ferrie earning the win with a complete game.
On May 4th, the FCL boys swept Lewiston Altura with a 14-4 win the first game and 13-3 win the second game. Dillon O’Connor got the win for game one, and Gunner Benson got the win for game two with 10 strikeouts. On the 9th of May, the FCL boys had a 11-1 win against Wabasha-Kellong. Peyton Olson got a solo home run, and Ty and Levi made quick work on the mound. It was also senior night for the 7 senior boys who have been great leaders and role models throughout the years. On the 11th, the boys had a double header against Caledonia and took a 6-4 win the first game and a 4-7 lost in the second game.
The boys have had a great season so far and are planning to continue the winning streak.
