For the past month, the Rochester location Starbucks matcha has been out of stock. Matcha lovers like me have been going through the pain without it.

Since it has been getting warmer, people opt for iced drinks like refreshers and teas rather than hot coffee. Earlier this month, I went to a Starbucks in Rochester to get an iced matcha beverage, but instead came out with a Dragon Drink. The Dragon Drink was still good, but I longed for an iced matcha oat milk latte.

This past weekend I gave the South Broadway Starbucks a call inquiring about the matcha shortage. The store employee had said that matcha has not been in stock, and that he had no clue when the next shipment would be. Heartbroken (again), I went to Starbucks and got a Strawberry Açaí Refresher with lemonade.

For the first time in a month, I finally got a taste of my favorite Starbucks drink, matcha, in the cities. It tasted just like how I remembered it, incredible.

In the meantime, I would recommend any of the three refreshers offered or teas. Last of all, for the matcha lovers: it’s not goodbye; it’s see you later.
