Preston Trout Days

This coming weekend, May 19th through May 21th, is Trout Days in Preston. There are a lot of activities going on with the busiest day being Saturday, May 20th. This is your chance to get out of the house this weekend and go out and join in on some fun activities.
Starting off, there are a few activities going on all day on both Friday and Saturday. You can fish Preston’s 9-Hole Fishing Course, play the 18-Hole Preston Disc Golf Course, or shop at some City-Wide Garage sales in Preston. On Friday from 10 am to 3 pm, there is a Preston Veterans’ Home Career Fair, and at 5 pm there is a Preston EMS Takeout Steak Dinner Fundraiser.
On Saturday from 8 am to 10 am, there is a Fillmore County Master Gardeners’ Plant Sale. Starting at 9am, there is a Beer Tent and Bloody Mary Bar. At 9:30 am, there is an Active PT Bag Tournament, at 9am a Kid’s Fishing Contest, and from 9 am to 11 am Free Orvis Fly Fishing 101. Other activities include Preston Flea Market from 9 am to 4 pm, Preston Pop-Up Market 10 am to 2 pm, and a Quip and Quit Group Quilt Show from 10am to 3pm.
From 10 am to 6 pm, there are free bounce houses, face painting, barrel train, and bungee trampoline. There is a VFW Chicken BBQ starting at 10 am and from 10 am to 3 pm, a Preston Historical Society Caboose & Elevator Tours. Starting at 11 am, there is a Preston Fire Department Beer Garden & Food. From 11 am to 12 pm and 2 to 3 pm, there is Fillmore Central ECFE Crafts and Stories. There is Family Game Day from 11 am to 2 pm, a Show and Shine Car Show from 11 am to 3 pm, and a Preston Lions Club Food Stand from 11 am to 4 pm.
The Grand Parade that goes through downtown will be at 4pm. There will be a Kid’s Pedal Pull and Preston Veterans Scholarship Fund Drawing after the parade. At 5 pm, there will be live music by Brenda and Matt Stier; from 8pm to midnight, live music by JT Gunslinger Duo will be occurring. Fireworks will be at dusk. On Sunday, there will be a Dave Collett Memorial Tractor Pull.
