Canada Wildfires

May 24, 2023
In case you haven’t noticed, the sky has been extra dull lately. This is because of the wildfires that are spreading throughout Canada. In Alberta, wildfires have been spreading across the country very rapidly. According to CNN, these wildfires have burned more than 150 times more area in the province than in the last five years combined.
Now, you might be wondering how these fires are affecting us in the United States. The endless amount of smoke produced by the wildfires has been moving into the central US. Late last week, weather officials announced air quality alerts across several states. The smoke is predicted to linger in some states for several days, causing low visibility and poor air quality.
Over the next few days be sure to pay attention to what local weather officials have to say about the air quality. Air quality alerts should not be taken lightly as the air can be dangerous when it’s filled with so much smoke from wildfires. If weather officials recommend limiting your time outdoors please listen because inhaling air heavily filled with smoke can be dangerous.
