A Look At Our Evolution Through Time

Do you ever think about how long things have been around for? Do you take time to acknowledge how far we’ve come as a society? We have come a long way in human history and have made so many creations. Some things have been around for so long but haven’t even changed that much. Like did you know that calendars and roads originated way back in ancient Rome? Many things have evolved and changed over time, but the concepts are still very similar to those back then.

We have come so far as a society and we continue to evolve. As technology gets better and our understanding of things grows, we become better equipped to handle the ever-changing events of the world. Take newspapers for example. Back in ancient Rome newspapers used to be made on metal and stone. They have come quite a long way since then. Like many other inventions, they have had many different styles and evolutions throughout history. Things like telescopes, telephones and even cameras have had so many modifications and adjustments since first being invented. They are being continually upgraded to keep up with modern times. Modes of transportation have also changed greatly. From continually changing car upgrades, to modified plane versions, people have come up with so many ways to get around faster and more efficiently. As the times change and people’s daily lives become different, humans continue to grow and expand their resources and surroundings to make life easier and simpler. Just like any other species, we learn to adapt and change things to better survive life.

Not only through expanding inventions have we grown in our societies but also in our beliefs. I feel like in the past few decades we have become more diverse and open to new things. There continue to be new groups of people and cultures. Even in books and movies I feel like there has been a rise in the amount of representation of different types of people. And although we are not perfect, our respect and acknowledgment for one another has definitely improved since way back when.

From advancements in inventions, to new beliefs and norms, we have come a long way as people. It’s kind of crazy to think about how much humans have evolved. The ideas and inventions that we have come up with today are things people used to only dream about. It’s also interesting to think about how much more we will evolve in the future. I feel like we have reached a point where we ask how much more we can improve. Have we made the biggest modern and efficient advancements, or do we still have a long way to go?
