Senior Spotlight: Jersey Ristau

Senior+Spotlight%3A+Jersey+Ristau

This week’s senior spotlight is shining the light on Jersey Ristau! Jersey is 17 years old. During her senior year, Jersey is mostly excited for the basketball season. She is eager to show her leadership skills and see how far they can take her and the Fillmore Central girls basketball team.

After high school Jersey plans to attend Arizona State University to major in forensic science. Currently, her main goal is to maintain her straight A’s. Another goal she has is to get all of her college applications turned in and other college preparations finished. She wants to have a relaxing second half of her senior year.

Mrs. Mueller has made a great impact on Jersey. Math has always been Jersey’s favorite subject. Taking Mueller’s classes have been super beneficial for her. Mr. Pederson has also made a big impact on Jersey. Jersey stated, “[Mr.] Pederson is always there to motivate me and push me to do my best, even when I think I don’t need the motivation.”

She won’t miss much about high school except for her friends – Annika, Audrey, and Izzy. Jersey stated, “It’s going to be hard leaving them, since they’ve been my rocks throughout my senior year so far and will continue to be. They’re the ones that can make me laugh after a stressful day of Speech and English, which I appreciate.”

Jersey’s favorite memory from elementary school was riding the bus to school with her older brother, Ajay, and getting to play with him during morning recess. A piece of advice Jersey wishes she got before her senior year would be to go out of your way to meet new people and see new places. Also, take opportunities to travel when you can.
