Estelles & Gabby Lou’s

Estelles+%26+Gabby+Lous

Estelles and Gabby Lou’s are two of Harmony’s greatest treasures. They’re great because of their amazing food and their wondrous owners, Matt and Heidi Brown. While Matt is busy with prep and cooking, Heidi is out front helping customers and working with employees to figure out schedules and availability. These two are a power couple and can solve any problem that comes their way.

Estelles is an amazing lunch and dinner restaurant that serves a very wide variety of meals. The type of meals they serve are as follows: rice bowls from a more Asian cuisine; nacho and taco dishes from a more Mexican cuisine; burgers, fries, and nuggets from a more American cuisine; and pasta from a more Italian cuisine. Their rice bowls are amazing with them serving teriyaki and southwest style bowls. With their nachos and tacos, they sell varieties like fish tacos and teriyaki nachos. Their Gabby burger is one of the icons on their menu. It’s a burger packed with jam and bacon along with blue cheese. We asked what the most popular menu item is, and Matt said, “At Estelle’s it’s definitely pork nuggets and the rice bowls.” Around the winter time, Estelle’s has opted to serve their pastas such as chicken alfredo. Estelles also does holiday events where Matt, the head chef, prepares meals for Christmas and Thanksgiving. One of the special treats Matt serves during the Christmas season are macarons which are quite the delicacy.

Gabby Lou’s is one of their new business ventures where you can get breakfast and lunch. Gabby’s serves pastries and other breakfast items like cinnamon rolls and muffins. Some of the delicious breakfast items include biscuits and gravy, sausage and mushroom omelet, and classic hash browns. Gabby’s biggest feature is their bakery area where you can order items like muffins, cinnamon rolls, brownies, bars, and much more depending on the day. Sadly, Gabby’s does not serve takeout meals for any of the holidays, but they definitely have treats for you to take home for your family.

Estelles has been open since July of 2015. When asked why they opened Estelles, Matt said, “We wanted to open up a restaurant in Heidi’s home town. We wanted to move back here. We just learned that we were going to be mom and dad with our first child, Estelle … coming into the world, and we wanted to raise our family here in Harmony.” When asked why they opened Gabby’s, Matt said, “Gabby’s kinda just was a thing that the building was for sale after Covid. Kinda not knowing what we were going to do with it, not having a plan, with my wife having a career change and wanting to get into the restaurant business, with me and my pastry chef Izzy committing to it, we decided to open up Gabby’s.” Opening in March, Gabby’s has been open for eight months.

Estelles and Gabby’s are great places for students who are just coming of age to work. They have positions in dishwashing, cooking, front of house, and bartending (for young adults). So stop by this weekend to check out Gabby Lou’s for breakfast, and come back in the evening for a great home cooked meal at Estelle’s.

Hey Ben Just thought I’d leave you with an idea I saw that the journalism class was making a podcast and I had a thought. What if you take the radio show and make it into a similar podcast for those who can’t always listen to it live. Just thought I’d throw it out there.
