With Small Business Saturday coming up, I interviewed one of Harmony’s businesses, Bee Balm, which is owned by Becky Meyers. Bee Balm opened in October of 2019, so it’s been open for a little over four years. Meyers is the Director of the Chamber of Commerce in Harmony and saw that Harmony was a good place to do business. So she opened her own. She has two or three employees depending on the time of year. “The most rewarding parts of becoming a owner in Harmony is connecting people to the items they are looking for and getting to help them find it and selling it to them” said Meyers.
Bee Balm has a wide variety of products. They sell new clothing, women’s consignment clothing, vintage finds, homemade jewelry, Amish made goods, Naked Bee lotions, and home decor. When you walk in you take it all in. When you go down to the basement, that’s where all the vintage finds are at. It’s cool going down there and getting to see things from a long time ago and how they have changed over the years. Some of her customers’ favorites are the salsas, Judy Blue Jeans, the vintage finds, clothes, and Naked Bee lotion.
Bee Balm is going to have some specials with the holidays coming up. They will have Black Friday specials, Small Business Saturday Specials on Saturday, November 25th, and on December 13th the Holidays in Harmony event. During Holidays in Harmony stores stay open later, and Bee Balm will have a special prize drawing.
