This weeks’ Senior Spotlight is shining a light on Matt Marzolf.
This year Matt is most excited for returning to basketball from an injury. Matt fractured two of his knuckles during the first game and has been out since. He is hoping to recover quickly so he can get back out on the court.
His plans after high school are to move on to college at Riverland Community College in Albert Lea MN to become a diesel mechanic. Some of his current major goals are finishing high school with good grades for his senior year.
The teacher who has had the biggest impact on Matt is Mr.Holten. Matt states that Mr.Holten has always pushed him to be a better student, and do better over all.
Matt’s favorite memory from elementary school was the class always getting football taken away during recess. His favorite high school memory is all the days he spent in the shop with Garett Gosman and William Parker. Matt’s extracurricular activities include basketball and FFA. His biggest accomplishment from high school is getting into scholar club in 11th grade.
Some things Matt is going to miss about high school are getting to see his friends during school, basketball, and the teachers. Outside of school, Matt enjoys farming, working on the farm or with tractors, hanging out with his family, and playing basketball. Matt’s advice to the younger students is to cherish the moments because it goes by so fast.
